The University, either through the Operating & Endowment Fund or the Retirement Plans, does not engage companies on sustainability issues. However, when reviewing investment managers, Western asks the managers to show how they integrate environmental, social and governance factors in their investment process.

Negative screens are only applied by Aberdeen Asset Management to the Socially Responsible Global Equity Fund. No screens are applied to the other investments.
