A brief description of the technology used:

Iowa State has retrofitted restroom facilities across campus with occupancy sensors. Restroom sensors are replacements for light switches that were previously installed. Maintained by Facilities Services campus-wide, most are this model: http://www.prolighting.com/ws-250.html. In all new buildings and remodeling projects, occupancy sensors are provided in offices as well as large classrooms and lecture halls, as specified in the section from the ISU Facilities Design Manual provided in the following link.
